We are currently looking for books on or about the Philippines to review in the “Writing the Philippines” edition of Cha: An Asian Literary Journal, scheduled for publication in June 2018. The guest editors of the issue are Ricardo M. de Ungria and Lawrence Lacambra Ypil and they will read the submissions with Cha editors.
We welcome submissions of review copies from publishers, authors and translators. If you have a recent book (2015 – 2017/8) of any genre about the Philippines you would like reviewed (and has not yet been reviewed in the journal), please write to our reviews editor Eddie Tay at email@example.com for further discussion. Note that we will require print copies or pdf proofs no later than 1 March 2018 (the sooner the better) to be considered for use in the issue.
If you would like to propose to review a relevant book, film, art exhibition, or any other cultural production for the “Writing the Philippines” edition, please write to co-editor Tamara Ho at firstname.lastname@example.org with your ideas no later than 31 March 2018 (again, the sooner the better). Please note that the reviewed items can be in Filipino or other languages, so long as the reviews are written in English.
