Collier Nogues at Catholic Mission School

Many thanks to our workshop facilitator, Collier Nogues! Our very first workshop under the Cha Writing Workshop Series initiative (in partnership with the Hong Kong Poetry Festival Foundation) was conducted on Monday 22 January 2018 at Catholic Mission School, for P4 to 6 students. We’re honoured to be able to do this as part of the school’s English Literature Week (22-25 January) which focused on the theme of love.

From Collier: “Primarily, my goal was to introduce students to the idea that poets connect specific concrete imagery to abstract ideas and feelings (like love, the English Literature Week’s theme) in ways that can help us understand those abstract things better.”

Many thanks also to Mr Dermot Cooper and Mrs Watkiss CHAN Mei Kuen from the Catholic Mission School, for getting in touch with us to kick off this event.

We plan to hold one to two writing workshops every month, for local school children (all levels), as well as economically and socially disadvantaged groups. If you’d like to suggest an idea, please contact Tammy Ho (t@asiancha.com) and/or Eddie Tay (eddie@asiancha.com). Click here to see a list of past and future workshops. And click here to read instructors’ reflections on the workshops.
