We are happy to announce that in September 2018 Cha will be publishing a special “Writing Singapore” issue. Submissions of poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction and art are accepted between 1 April 2018 and 30 June 2018. If you have something original, bizarre, daring or thought-provoking to say about Singapore, we would like to hear from you. Please note that we can only accept submissions in English or translated into English.
We are also looking for books on or about Singapore to review in the “Writing Singapore” issue. We welcome submissions of review copies from publishers, authors and translators. If you have a recent book (2015 – 2017/8) of any genre about Singapore you would like reviewed (and has not yet been reviewed in the journal), please write to our reviews editor Eddie Tay at email@example.com for further discussion. Note that we will require print copies or pdf proofs no later than 1 June 2018 (the sooner the better) to be considered for use in the issue.
If you would like to propose to review a relevant book, film, art exhibition, or any other cultural production for the “Writing Singapore” edition, please write to co-editor Tamara Ho at firstname.lastname@example.org with your ideas no later than 30 June 2018 (again, the sooner the better). Please note that the reviewed items can be in Chinese or other languages, so long as the reviews are written in English.
GUIDELINES: If you would like to have your poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, and photography & art considered for Cha’s “Writing Singapore” issue, please submit your work by email to email@example.com. Please include “Writing Singapore” in the subject line. Submissions to the issue must conform to our guidelines.
