CHA—Call for Submissions—Issue 42 (Eleventh Anniversary Issue)—December 2018

NOTE: We have now reopened the submission window for PROSE entries (fiction and creative non-fiction) and PHOTOGRAPHY/ART until Friday 9 November 2018. If you would like your work considered for inclusion in our Eleventh Anniversary Issue (tentatively scheduled for publication in late December 2018), please send your work directly to co-editor Tammy Ho ( with the subject line: “Eleventh—[Your name]—Genre”.  

We are happy to announce that we are now accepting submissions for Issue 42—Eleventh Anniversary Issue—of Cha: An Asian Literary Journal, scheduled for publication in December 2018. Submissions of preferably Asian-themed poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction and photography & art are open on Monday 9 July 2018 and close on Sunday 30 September 2018. Please note that we can only accept submissions in English or translated into English.

Our Associate Editors Arthur Leung (poetry) and Royston Tester (prose) will be reading the submissions with the co-editors Tamara Ho Lai-Ming and Jeff Zroback.

If you have a recent book that you think would be right for review in Cha, we encourage you to contact our Reviews Editor Eddie Tay ( Books should be sent to Eddie before 1 September 2018.  If you would like to propose to review a book, a film, an exhibition, etc., please write to Cha‘s co-editor Tamara Ho ( with your idea before 30 September 2018.

Submissions to the issue should conform to our guidelines. NOTE: Submissions that do not comply to our guidelines will not be read or responded to.

    by your exemplary and unique effort in literary field. I sincerely wish success to your copious deed.

    I take liberty to ask whether I can submit a short poem on Cha, which in our language means TEA. Also I am born and broight up in Cha Bagan (Tea Garden). I wait green signal from your end.

    I wanted to know do you publish poetry and how can I send it to you in the above written procedure you talk about that’s why the confusion arise.
    If you not publish is there anything you can do for me as I want to be a poet.
