Cha: An Asian Literary Journal is now calling for submissions for Issue 45, scheduled for publication in June 2019.
Please send in (preferably Asian-themed) poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, reviews, photography & art for consideration. Submission guidelines can be found here. Deadline: 31 March 2019.
Jason S Polley (poetry) and Sreedhevi Iyer (prose) will act as guest editors and read the submissions with the editors Tamara Ho and Jeff Zroback. Please contact Reviews Editor Eddie Tay at email@example.com if you want to review a book or have a book reviewed in the journal. (Please note that we may be working with a 2-3 issue backlog with reviews.)
Additionally, we are also accepting submissions for a special section devoted to the Tiananmen Square Massacre in 1989. The section will be edited by Tamra Ho and Lucas Klein. We are looking for high-quality and previously unpublished poems, stories, remembrances, essays, and works of creative nonfiction, either originally written in English or translated from any of China’s languages into English, on the topic of the Tiananmen Square democracy movement and its aftermath. Closing date: Sunday 31 March 2019. Find out more HERE.
We love returning contributors – past contributors are very welcome to send us their new works.
If you have any questions, please feel free to write to any of the Cha staff at firstname.lastname@example.org. The subject line of your submissions should read “June 2019—[Your initials]—[Genre]”. Please follow our guidelines closely.
