One of the poems in Fish Bones, “To John Lyman and the Portrait of his Father“, was first published in Issue 5 of Cha; the collection was reviewed by Viki Holmes in Issue 8 of the journal.

Gillian Sze is a former guest editor and three-time contributor of Cha. Her poem “Sonnet II” was discussed on A Cup of Fine Tea.

Gillian Sze‘s Fish Bones (published by Punchy Press) is reviewed in The Uniter, a weekly urban journal based in Winnipeg. Reviewer Chris Campbell thinks Gillian’s collection is “a strong literary debut and worth reading” and that her voice is “both vibrant and wise, offering a perspective that reflects life, in all its unpredictability, and captures something of love.” In the review, Campbell also discusses several poems from the book including “Forget-Me-Not”, “Alone on the Other Side of the World” and “How to be Dead”. Launch of Gillian Sze’s Fish Bones

Gillian Sze’s new poetry book Fish Bones will be launched on Sunday April 26 2009. Time: 2-3:30 pm Location: Delta Centre-Ville near Victoria Square Metro, 777 University St., Montreal, QC
Gillian will also be reading on the same evening at The Pilot Reading Series, presented by Matrix Magazine, the Quebec Writers Federation, and Pop Montreal. Other readers include Jason Camlot, Catherine Graham, Nick McArthur and Sandra Davies. The event will be hosted by Mike Spry and there will be music by Billy Fong Foundation.
